Prutswerk (p_r_u_t_s_e_r) submitted a subtitles version which appears to be an accurate translation of the Japanese. I have therefore incorporated that into ver.2, and corrected many of my ad-libbing mistakes. Thank you!
Notes:-
- (I think) Deunan referred to Kudo's team as "Green", which
is explained in the manga as a derogatory term. But without
that explanation, I opted to use "Fresh" which hopefully
would convey the same meaning.
- I settled for "Dr. Gillian". I'm guessing that "Gilliam" would
have been pronounced "Gi-ri-a-mu"
- The multi-legged cannons were called "Gun Platforms" in the manga. But I saw someone referred to them as "Mobile Fortresses", and I thought that sounded more cool, so I opted for that instead.

I have used the original version by metalmania for the basis,
and consulted with icie's version 3, as well as the Dark Horse mangas.
I have loosely re-worded and re-synced much of the dialogue. My Japanese is limited, so I didn't attempt for a strict translation. Rather, I aimed for a smooth story flow. Thus in several places, I have ad-libbed lines, most were guesses, and a few were intentionally different from the Japanese dialogue.
I initially did these substitles so my family & friends could better enjoy this amazing anime without the subtitles detracting from the masterpiece itself. I think I can say that they'll be looking out for the english releases now. So it's my hope that you will also get more out of watching this movie with my little contribution.
If anyone wishes to modify my work, please feel free. Though I would appreciate if you could let me know. Thanks.

Notes:
- Inserted a translation of the quote provided at the very beginning of the movie, lifted from the KJV Bible. The original versions did not bother to do so.
- Most military rankings are not translated. Deunan has a rank as well.
- Expect mis-translations. I learnt most of my Japanese from watching anime (no official schooling in Japanese).
- Fundamental doubts on the fact establishment subtitles of time 00:13:30, 000 to 00:13:37, 470. Meaning of statement by hitomi is unclear. Further clarification of what I think happened down below after spoiler warning.
- Doubts on the anti-gravity technology explanation. There seems to be a name for that technology, but I did not catch it. Used the term from v 1 script to refer to the technology.
- The v1, 2 subtitles had the doctor's name as "Katherine". At no point in the dialogue does the pronunciation even come close to that. Looking it up via the credits and Google, I have found that the name "Gilliam" would be most suited for that character.
- At one point only do they use Briaros' surname (this is when they are inside the garage): HECATONCHIRES is his surname. The original v 1 and 2 did not pick up on that and translated it as "let's go find carlos" or something.
- The two "symbolic" buildings near the beginning during the tour of the city were translated Tarutaros and Tartarus in v 1 and 2. If you listen to the conversation, she actually says Tartarus and Daedalus, which would make more sense. Of course, only Tartarus seems to have a lot of importance in the movie.
- Another names thing: In the v 1, 2 subtitles, the assistant of Athena was translated as "Nicole". Romanising the name found in the credits, it is actually "Nike". Yes, like the shoe brand. But Nike is also the name of one of the deities of the Pantheon.
Mythological references
- Sprinkled throughout the whole movie are Greek mythological references:
Olympus was the dwellings of the Pantheon gods
Gaea was a first generation "god" representing the Earth
Uranus (or Ouranos) was the first generation sky god (who incidentally would not stop mating with Gaea until their son Kronos castrated him)
Hades is Zeus' brother, in charge of the underworld
Athena is the goddess of war
Nike is a goddess who personified triumph and victory. She was a companion of Athena. She was capable of running and flying at great speeds.
Tartarus was the lowest point of the mythological cosmos, where bad beings are imprisoned, or tortured
Daedalus built the infamous Labyrinth, then escaped from imprisonment with his son Icarus by building wings attached to their bodies with wax. Icarus flew too near to the sun of course, and went splat.

[Background information on the state of the World in Appleseed]
The World War Duenan recently engaged in must have ravaged Olympus quite a bit, but it seems that the government regained control and rebuilt heavy defences. It is the last place where human society remains on a civilised level, and without a doubt the rest of the world continues to carry out guerilla-type warfare against each other and Olympus, but the city is certainly capable of defending itself from the minor external threats.

Thanks for the Chinese friends who posted the Chinese sub for this great movie.
I simply translated Chinese sub to English. There should be some errors. I am
not too familiar with Japanese manga. Some Japanese names are a little bit confusing,
such as Deunan's mother, I really don't know what is the best translation, so I
just choose "Katherine". Hope you guys could live up with that. :)
I did a spelling check also. The sub is not perfect but watchable.
Feel free to edit and make it better. :)

I translated the CD1 sub from Chinese to English manually.
Yes, I know the "automatic" translation tool sucks. But I
cannot say my English is good to free of errors. Please make
any revisions you want.
The subs before 06:57 are really not important, I din't translate
that. It will not affect you enjoy the movie.
It took me 5 hours for CD1. I am tired today. So tomorrow I will
do CD2 if you guys think CD1 sub is OK.
